"Community is much more than belonging to something;

it's about

doing something together

that makes belonging matter."

In the wake of the horrific, unimaginably vicious attacks in Israel last week, The Israeli American Council (IAC) has decided to illuminate the human aspect of this crisis and unite international support to Bring our Hostages Home.

The IAC produced a main Rally in Times square New-York along with other partners, the hostage families, and many influencers who stand for humanity, and to raise our voices to demand the immediate release of hundreds of hostages currently held in captivity by Hamas.

Fake news has begun to gain momentum in recent years. Following the increase in the influence of social networks in general and the digital communities in particular and at the same time the accelerated technological development, the issue has taken on huge dimensions and has become a real problem.
Following training from the US Embassy in Israel and Conntix, a consulting agency focused on connecting people through technology and innovation, I created a campaign in collaboration with the Israeli Internet Association to encourage critical thinking. The campaign circulated on social media and went viral creating a strong wave of influence.

During Covid 19, businesswomen in the MaManhattan community experienced tremendous hardship. This leads me to initiate a collaboration with one of the community members, the owner of Reunion Cafe in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Our goal was to customize a nutritious meal for healthcare providers on the front line. In less than 24 hours, over 160 hot meals were donated by the community for the medical staff at Bronx and Manhattan hospitals. With the logistical help of "IAC Care", over $1,300 were donated to purchase medical supplies for New York hospitals.

Gender Equality

#WithMerkel Campaign

Fighting Fake news (4).jpg

As a leader of women’s communities, and a mentor to others, I believe that promoting gender equality is of paramount importance.
In October 2018, Germany’s Chancellor, Angela Merkel, attended a conference held in Israel on behalf of The Israel Innovation Authority. The complete lack of female representation at the conference provoked considerable resentment. This lead to an international protest in the form of a joint photograph of leading women and men in the high-tech field. Following this protest, the Innovation Authority issued an apology and appointed a person to ensure female representation in future conferences.

Community  Wedding

It all began when Shani and Dana, before coming to New York for Shani's cancer treatments, joined MaManhattan.
One day, Shani posted that she was looking for someone who could be a witness at their city hall wedding. The thought that they did not know a single soul in the city, disturbed me. With their permission, I reached out to the community to see if they’d like to help.  In five days, we had it all; 2 beautiful brides, a Chupa made by one of the members, a DJ, a photographer, food, drinks, makeup... the whole shebang; it was one of the most moving events ever.

One day, I received a call from Vivi Edgar, founder of a London-based Israeli mommy group. She suggested we collaborate by helping kids of both communities to get to know each other through the power of writing. The method we chose was an old-fashioned one; handwritten letters. Hundreds of kids, ages 5-13, took part in this initiative, which resulted in continuous communication that exists to this day. As a result, the families developed relationships thus expanding their own networks; a Win-Win for everyone.

Community Party with "My Child's Cancer" and "WonderKids"

My Child's Cancer organization accompanies children with cancer and their families. It connects them to a worldwide network of hospitals with the most advanced up-to-date treatments; this increases their chances of recovery and prolonged life. Together with WonderKids and MaManhattan, we produced a fabulous Purim party that brought great joy to the children and raised money for the organization.
